December Aroma Yoga Classes

 


We have had some amazing Aroma Yoga evenings with Rachel this month, with our final Festive Aroma Yoga this Wednesday.

We have had an evening of Chakras, a Relax & Destress evening and then our fun Festive Aroma Yoga evenings.

Rachel has excelled herself with her playlists and beautiful essential oils.

And the duvets have been much loved!

We have enjoyed lots of delicious canapes, catering for all dietary requirements, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free





We have a few Wellbeing Gift Boxes left which can be collected from Treetops or delivered locally.

7 beautiful items; a Treetops Candle, a Treetops Essential Oils Rollerball, lavender & geranium bath salts, loose herbal tea, a lavender eye pillow, a vegan chocolate bar and a small lavender bag.  All of this in a lovely box for £50.


We have lots of treats on our Christmas Shopping table, so pop by if you are passing, or visit the shop on the website.


Rachel and I look forward to seeing you in 2023 for more relaxing Aroma Yoga.

All evenings run from 7pm - 9pm and cost £25, this includes a warming drink and delicious nibbles after the class.  We also provide all the equipment needed plus filtered water.  You just need to wear comfy layers and bring some snuggly socks.

Also don't forget our great Online Yoga Workshops that are available on the website, they are great to do at home, when you haven't got the time or energy to go to the studio, or just want to do a yoga flow and then flop into bed!  Once downloaded the film is yours to keep, so you can rewatch and practice your Yoga as many times as you like.  Rachel has also supplied Spotify playlists with each workshop.  Investment £10.

Finding Balance Aromayoga

 


We had a lovely evening with Rachel and seven yogis for our Finding Balance Aroma Yoga Workshop.

A very relaxing yin workshop with a beautiful piano soundtrack in the background.

Rachel shared various oils with us, talking about their properties and benefits.


After class we stay wrapped in the savasana duvets whilst enjoying a warm drink and delicious nibbles

AromaYoga Evening with Rachel


Rachel led a lovely evening of AromaYoga on Wednesday, the evening was focussed on our Root Chakra.

A grounding yin yoga session took place, whilst Rachel talked about the chakra and her oils.

We used oils that are really good for grounding, some delicious tree and woodland scents and the amazing frankincense.

We moved into some hatha and finished with a very relaxing shavasana under warm duvets!


The evening drew to a close with delicious nibbles and almond milk chai lattes.

AromaYoga Evening with Rachel


We had a great evening with Rachel on Wednesday for our AromaYoga class.

We enjoyed a 90 minute gentle yoga practice with Rachel sharing and explaining various essential oils to us.

After a lovely relaxation with duvets and dimmed lights, out came the nibbles and warm drinks.

It was a really cosy friendly evening.

Relax & Restore Retreat Day



We had a really lovely and relaxing Retreat Day on Saturday

We welcomed in the New Year with the theme of Sankalpa, which is the setting of intentions.

Our group enjoyed a hatha yoga flow in the morning with Laura, followed by a delicious and nutritious lunch.

Laura led a meditation session in the woods whilst enjoying the peaceful setting.

After some warming drinks we had our wellbeing session as Laura then finished the day with an amazing restorative yoga and sound meditation hour.

Candlelit Yoga and Supper Evening


We had a a lovely Candlelit Yoga Supper Evening with Laura recently.

The room was really cosy and lit with candles whilst Laura led us through a gentle Yoga practice.

Supper was served mid-way through

Following that we snuggled under our duvets with warming eye masks for some blissful relaxation and sound meditation.

Relax & Restore Retreat Class August


Laura returned to hold another Relax & Restore Retreat, we hold these on a Saturday and it's a great opportunity to escape, come somewhere quiet and peaceful, and have us look after you for the day.

The theme was Keep Your Cool, which we used in our yoga practice, our foods and our wellbeing activity.

After a delicious free-from lunch Laura took the group down into the woods, for some mindfulness (and whilst her back was turned, collecting nettles for the tonic we made in the afternoon) she discovered all of them zipping down the zip wire!


 In the afternoon we made some relaxing bath salts to take home, infused with lavender and rose petals.


We finished with a truly relaxing sound meditation and yoga nidra, below is a picture of of the bowls and bells Laura used.

A perfect start to the week ahead ....


Welcome back to everyone who came to Yoga this morning.

It's such a perfect way to start the week.

We had our Restorative gentle yoga to start with, lots of soft poses that are held for slightly longer than usual, using props such as bolsters and blocks.  Finishing with a lovely savasana.

Savasana may appear to be a little snooze at the end of a yoga session, but it is a yoga pose, one that is awake, yet relaxed.  (Also known as the corpse pose - as you lie down on your back with your eyes closed so that you can truly relax both your mind and body). 

It is really good at ridding the body of tension, as well as having many other positive benefits, such as helping relieve mild depression, fatigue, headaches, high blood pressure and insomnia.  It's great for calming the whole nervous system.

Join us at 9:30am to 10:30am if this sounds like the yoga class for you.  Beginners are more than welcome, come and give it a go.

After Restorative Yoga, some stay and others join us for Meditation and Breath-work. 

This is such an incredibly relaxing and calming hour.

If you've always wondered what meditation is about, please come and give it a try.

After some gentle settling breath-work whilst sitting we then lay on our mats with our eyes closed, with the warmed eye masks and duvets whilst Laura led a sound meditation. 

Below are her quartz bowl and bells.


The sound from the bowl creates vibrations that really resonate and echo within you, assisting the release of emotional and energy blockages.

Apparently it slows the brainwaves as the soundwaves send us into a dreamlike state.

There are many benefits such as it:

improves memory
helps with relaxation and meditation
improves attention span and focus
stimulates creativity
strengthens resilience
releases tension
reduces anger

The high intensity and low frequency combination of bowls, known as singing bowls, gongs and bells in a sound meditation can induce a deep relaxation response.  Sound healing has been used for centuries.

NEW for the next few weeks is our Outdoor Vinyasa Flow class, from 12 noon - 1pm.

It's so lovely to enjoy yoga outside with the fresh air, warmth and bird song.

This class takes the energy levels up a notch and we do some great stretches and poses.


Think warrior pose, downward dog, lunges amongst many. 

I really enjoyed this morning's class, it definitely showed me where my body strength needs some work!


Each of our classes cost £10 and you don't need to bring anything with you.

All equipment and filtered water is provided for you, along with plenty of free parking.

To book, please email me to book your yoga mat (just incase we have a full class) up to 8am each Monday morning.  We are just 5 minutes from the centre of Newbury town centre in a peaceful corner of Wash Common.

NEW! Monday Morning Vinyasa Flow Yoga


NEW to Monday Mornings

Starting on Monday 4 June, we will have a new Yoga class to add to our Relax & Restore classes with Laura. 

Form 12 noon - 1pm, we will be holding an outdoor Vinyasa Flow class.

(obviously if the weather isn't great, we will set up the mats indoors)

Vinyasa is a dynamic flow from posture to posture, moving with your breath.


Laura's class will create space and softness throughout your whole being, allowing slow and steady movement, incorporating gentle twists, folds, expansion, lengthening and grounding.

All equipment is provided for you
Cost £10

Our next batch of 4 dates are:

4 June
11 June
18 June
2 July

If you book all 4, you receive a 10% discount.

You may not be aware that we hold a Meditation and Breathwork class before this from 10:45am - 11:45am, they would work nicely together, and again 10% off if you book those two together.

Relaxing Candlelit Yoga & Meditation Evening


We enjoyed a lovely and relaxing evening last night with Laura.

She led us through an evening of gentle and restorative yoga flow by the fire, with candles glowing.

There are many benefits to Restorative Yoga, it stills the mind, deeply relaxes the body, enhances flexibility, balances the nervous system and boosts the immune system.

Laura chooses supported poses that we hold for several minutes, this helps the body to fully engage, soften and relax.  We use props such as bolsters, pillows, blocks and belts.

Restorative Yoga balances your central nervous system by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system.  By taking deep breaths and relaxing into the postures, the heart rate, breathing rate, blood pressure and emotions slow down.

After a delicious and nutritious soup supper we took part in a meditation session which led into a lovely Yoga Nidra under the duvets with warming eye masks, with sound from Laura's koshi bells.

Blissful Candlelit Yoga Supper Evening


Following last night's beautiful Sunset in Newbury, we had our Candlelit Yoga Evening with Laura Routh-Parsons.


The hall was lit by 'millions' of candles, the fire was lit and the room was cosy.

Following a warming welcome drink of mulled apple, Laura led a gentle yoga flow and meditation.


Our 8 Yogis enjoyed a soup supper followed by chai lattes and warm cacao drinks.

We had a delicious lightly spiced butternut squash and butterbean soup


 and this yummy broccoli soup ...

... served with gluten free croutons, roasted seeds, dairy free coyo yoghurt, roasted peanuts and pomegranate seeds

After supper, Laura took us through some pranayama breathing before we laid down under the duvets with warming eye masks listening to the sound of the crackling fire.

Bliss!

Heavenly Candlelit Yoga Evening


Such a wonderful, warm, relaxing and friendly evening .....

8 lovely ladies joined Laura and I for a Candlelit and Fireside Yoga and supper evening. 


They enjoyed warmed mulled apple juice on arrival, before settling down for a session of breathwork and restorative yoga.


A soup supper followed with some delicious chai lattes.


To finish off the evening, everyone was covered in a duvet with a warming eye mask whilst listening to the crackling fire and experiencing an amazing yoga nidra and sound meditation.

2018 Relax & Restore Classes


Yoga and Meditation


From Monday 8 January 2018 we will be holding Relax & Restore Classes with Laura Routh-Parsons.

Session 1
Gentle Flow Restorative Yoga: 9.30am - 10.30am


Session 2
Meditation: 10.45am - 11.45am

Time to connect, balance and restore your body, mind and soul.

Ideal for beginners and others wanting a gentle start to the week in a small and welcoming environment.

The price is £10 per session and everything will be provided for you; mats, towels, cushions, blocks, belts, eye masks and blankets.

(If you book the 5 week block you receive 10% off)

Candlelit Yoga Evenings


On Tuesday 23 January we are holding another wonderful Candlelit Yoga Evening by the fireside.

Gentle yoga and meditation led by Laura with a delicious supper of nutritious soups and warming drinks.

The class runs from 7pm - 9.30pm and costs £30.




Relax & Restore Retreat Day


On Saturday 20 January we will be having another relaxing Retreat Day at Treetops.

Running from 11:30am - 4:30pm you will enjoy a great day in a small group taking part in gentle yoga, meditation, yoga nidra, a wellbeing workshop, a delicious and nutritious lunch, a creative activity and a gentle mindful walk within the 3 acres of grounds and woodland at Treetops.


We cater for all dietary requirements.
