The team are just finishing filming and producing another 3 which will join us next month on the website.

You may have seen on Facebook that we have recently launched a Treetops Newbury YouTube channel.  Here we will share short demonstration videos from Claire, so it is definitely worth subscribing to it, you just need to click the (FREE) subscribe button over on YouTube

We have plenty of paints, paper, mounts and Material Boxes available in our Shop we can post, deliver if you're in Newbury or you can collect from Treetops.  If you are coming to a class; order beforehand and I can have it wrapped and ready for you when you arrive.

Claire's Sketch Pads are perfect for this time of year when you are out and about or on holiday.  These are no ordinary sketching pads!  These are ring bound so can be opened up flat and due to the thickness of paper you can use watercolour paint on both sides.
There are 12 sheets of 200lbs/425gsm Saunders Waterford Paper.

Currently the only Sketch Pad on the market not made using 140lb/300gsm paper.

Beginners & Refreshers Watercolour

Last week we had a very successful Beginners & Refreshers Watercolour class with Claire.

First thing is learning about the paints, brushes, papers and mixing

Claire demonstrates in a step by step style and offers plenty of support throughout the day

There were lots of techniques in this painting of a misty morning, washes, reflections, shadows, trees, foliage and creating the mist itself.

Below are the finished works of art ...

Claire is back this week for Swathes of Sunflowers, I have two places left if you would like to join us
9:30am - approx 3pm
£75
all materials, a 2 course lunch and a glass of wine included

Beginners and Refreshers Watercolour

It was a beautiful sight yesterday morning to see a mother deer and her two little ones eating at the bottom of the garden!

We had a group of Beginner and Refresher artists in yesterday

Claire spends the first part of the morning explaining about brushes, paper and paints.

Everyone can then have a play with the water and paints, watching how it moves, creating different shades of colour, working out how much pigment is needed to create stunning colours.

Today's painting was a lovely blue door, touching on plant pots and hanging baskets, pathways and brickwork.

There were some great Blue Doors!

Norfolk Sunsets in Watercolour

Last week with Claire we held a Watercolour class

Our subject was Sunsets

It really was a lesson in colour and washes ...

... lots of washes!

We had gorgeous moody skies

Beautiful fields, marshlands and windmills.

The paintings really show a peaceful finish to a lovely day.

Next term's dates will be out shortly.

Keep your eye on the blog!

Banish the Winter Blues Watercolour

Last week we had our annual 'Banish the Winter Blues' Watercolour class with Claire.

This year the theme was Snowdrops and Crocuses.

Most of the group managed two small paintings during the day.

Great paintings from everyone!
