 ANNOUNCEMENT

Claire and I have spent the past 19 years running Art at Treetops classes, exploring watercolour, acrylics, pastels, pen and wash, mixed media and oils.

Thank you if you've painted with us either in person or via or online library of downloadable workshops.

Treetops Art days are coming to an end at the end of the Summer Term 2024.  We would both like to thank you for all your company, laughter, tears, real friendships and amazing accomplishment in your art adventures.

Time for new journeys, some more time in Cornwall, prioritising health and a gentler pace.

Claire will still be at Marlborough Summer School this year and running her April and September 3-day Cotswold Painting weekends, message me if you would like further details. Her Gift Store full of items adorned in her images can be found HERE.

Our Online Workshops will be still be available to buy from the website and I will still be running Claire's Online Art Materials Shop, with her paints, sketchpads, material boxes, paper and mounts etc.

Beautiful Buildings Watercolour

Our recent class with Claire, Beautiful Buildings

This class was all about looking for the beauty in old and forgotten buildings, their structure, their doors, windows, brickwork, setting etc ..

A great opportunity to get out the texture paste to create some effect for the brickwork, and also to work with pens as well as the watercolour paints.

There were so many new techniques learnt it was a great day.

Claire is back next week for our new class, an Introduction to Brusho Paints,
these are vibrant little pots of powdered paint, that create great effects, whether on their own dropped into water or mixed with the water before applying.  I can't wait to see the finished paintings.

There are a few places left if you would like to join us
Wednesday 17 April
9:30am - approx 3pm
£80

Watercolour Wildlife

Friday was all about Wildlife at Treetops

Our artists had a choice between Deers, Hares and Foxes.

Surrounded by gorgeous autumnal and wintery colours.

Great opportunity to get out my abundance of Hare things!

We had a lovely lunch of a light thai green curry followed by a delicious Millionaire's Shortbread Parfait.

Here is the Wildlife Gallery ...

Beginners & Refreshers Winter Watercolour

We had some very talented Beginner and Refresher artists at Treetops, they painted these lovely Winter Scenes.

Our Beginner & Refresher classes are brilliant at building your confidence, and Claire does a great introduction that covers all you need to know about brushes, papers, paints and methods of watercolour.

(We provide notebooks for all the useful tips that Claire provides during the day)

The paper we use is from St Cuthberts Mill

and Claire buys most of her materials from

Claire also produces her own range of paints, and these can be bought at Treetops, she has some beautiful colours.

Claire teaches in a step-by-step style so that no-one gets left behind and it ensures an even, steady pace.

Claire talks about painting from light to dark ....

.. explains about where the light is coming from ...

... shows everyone how to apply their washes before the paper dries ...

.... how to add reflections and shadows ...

and how to use different brushes on the trees, I thought the trees were amazing today.

Our next Beginners & Refreshers class is on Thursday 1 February 2018
