Aga Baking with Sarah Whitaker

The Aga Lady Sarah Whitaker joined us at Treetops for a day of Aga Baking

It's incredible what she manages to create in such a short space of time!

Whilst she talked about the Aga, the different ovens and how to roast, bake, fry, steam, simmer etc there was a different bake being made

In a very short space of time we had sponge pudding, brownies, meringues, bread, christmas cake, a pineapple cake, pina colada tart, cheesecake, welsh cakes and a fantastic showstopper cake, a light sponge with whipped cream and white chocolate, a dark chocolate collar and topped with fresh fruit, delicious!

A delicious tasting tea of all the food cooked was enjoyed by everyone.

Christmas Aga with Sarah Whitaker

Delicious and Festive

A great morning with Sarah and her Christmas recipes, ideas for the day itself and the days surrounding Christmas when you may be entertaining.

Plenty of top tips to do with ingredients, oven juggling, freezing and making ahead.

It's amazing what Sarah can achieve in 2.5 hours!

We had the turkey, roast potatoes, vegetables galore, a vegan curry, a rice dish, a vegetarian tart and 3 puddings!

The red cabbage below was delicious after it's simmer in mulled wine ....

The lighting of the Christmas Pud ...

After Sarah has finished, everyone enjoys a tasting lunch of all the food cooked along with some mulled wine.

Thanks to Sarah for another great Treetops Aga class.

Aga Class with Sarah Whitaker

Just a selection of the delicious food created at this morning's Aga Class with Sarah Whitaker.

Sarah managed to cover baking, simmering, roasting, boiling, melting, stir-frying, grilling, warming and more in her demonstration this morning.

Sharing top tips along the way, on how to get the most out of your Aga, and your ingredients!

After the demonstration there is tasting lunch of all the food cooked served with a glass of wine.

I seemed to have forgotten to take a photo of the chocolate fudge cake!  Maybe because it went so fast!

Bookings are open for our Christmas Aga class on Tuesday 27 November 2018

Aga Christmas Parties with Sarah Whitaker

Thursday was Christmas Parties Aga with Sarah Whitaker

A new class full of delicious ideas for entertaining, canapes, meals, recipes that can be made ahead and frozen and tasty puddings.

It was also a good opportunity to get all of my festive bowls out of the cupboard!

Above are bacon pinwheels and below cheese puffs made with choux pastry, which Sarah demonstrated step by step.

Some warm home made onion bread, baked in the roasting oven.

We discussed how to cook root vegetables and potatoes in the Aga

A delicious mince family dish, perfect to make ahead and freeze in it's dish

Festive Flapjacks, these have a yummy mincemeat layer in them, Sarah then sprinkled them with icing sugar, edible glitter and her sprinkles!

Delicious Treacle & Walnut Tart

Sarah with her Wondrous Mushrooms, deliciously stuffed with caviar, dill and cream cheese.

There were so many festive things cooked, the kitchen smelt delicious!

We then enjoyed a tasting lunch of all the food cooked.

Sarah will be back at Treetops in 2018
