Poppies Watercolour

A bright and beautiful day yesterday as we painted Poppies in Watercolour with Claire.

There were plenty of poppy photographs to choose from, so everyone could choose their own composition and sketch it out with pencil, ensuring that one of the poppies was the star of the painting.

Using masking fluid the artists outlined the poppies and coloured in their seed heads.

Followed by a really bright first wash full of colour, with dashes of red to be out of focus poppies in the background.

Claire teaches in a step by step style and due to our small groups you receive plenty of attention and support with your painting.

We stopped for lunch and wine, today the menu was cajun chicken with a mexican quinoa salad, served with slow roasted tomato, olives and pine nuts.

Poppies Watercolour

A happy and vibrant day painting bright red poppies.

This is one of our most popular classes and if you look at the menu on the right hand side you will be able to see Poppies from other classes we have done over the years.

We started with a vibrant wash that later is able to hint at poppies, background and other flowers

It was a really stunning gallery at the end after Claire had put all the paintings into mounts

Our classes include all of your materials, a 2 course lunch with wine, refreshments throughout the day and plenty of support from Claire as we have no more than 10 people at the class

Beginners Watercolour

Our last class of term was a Beginners Watercolour.

10 lovely new people were taken through the basics of watercolour technique and equipment, and following Claire's step by step demonstrating created these brilliant paintings. 

At the end Claire puts the paintings into mounts and displays them for us all to see.

Poppies Watercolour

A lovely day painting bright and beautiful Poppies.

Most of the group came to the class having received the day as a Christmas Present.

We had 4 new artists, 3 of whom hadn't painted with watercolour before.

I was very impressed with one artist having matching nails for the day!

Today's delicious lunch was Pomegranate Chicken, Crushed Potatoes and a Warm Cauliflower Salad, followed by Roasted Rhubarb and Lemon Pots.

After lunch, Claire continued to demonstrate in her step by step style.

Rockies Poppies!

A really bright and beautiful start to term!

Big and loose and colourful. 

Today's group were from Rock Choir in Wokingham, they have painted a few times with us now.

It was a really fun day, lots of laughter with the occasional burst of song!

We used one of Claire's new paints, POPPY from her new range, and it was beautifully vibrant and perfect for the day.
