Charity Crafternoon & Cream Tea

Thank you to everyone who came to Treetops yesterday for our Crafternoon

It was held in aid of Mind, the mental health charity and we raised £100!

Sophie, from A Boat Full of Wool joined us with her expertise and we are really grateful to the lovely Damaris Crafts and lovecrochet for donating raffle prizes and wool bundles.

Inside the house we had tables full of different makes, below are the flowers for our Floral Crown and Floral Hair clips

Hard at work below!

We had our creative and wellbeing table

and the bath salts work station, which filled the hall with gorgeous smells of lavender, rose and geranium.

Here are two floral crowns beautifully made and modelled!

Thank you gorgeous ladies!
And thank you to Susan for the delicious scones 💜

Pebeo Seascapes

And now for something a little different ....

On Thursday we had a Pebeo class

Pebeo are acrylic paints with a high viscosity that can be used on boards, canvas and also glass.

You can create great effects with their fantasy paints and watch them bleed into the other paint you've already put down.

More information on the paints can be found here

They are easily available from places such as Hobbycraft.

Today's theme was all about Seascapes, making blue sea effects of waves, rolling skies and becoming mesmerised as the paintings developed in their own way (and time!)

We stopped for lunch allowing some of them to dry, it takes about 24-48 hours for them to dry, or DAYS if you add alot of paint and alot of layers!

Claire is now heading off to teach at Marlborough Summer School, but once she has finished we will be announcing our Autumn term dates and subjects.

Pen and Wash In the Garden Day

When Claire and I planned this class many months ago, calling it 'In the Garden', we didn't expect to actually be able to be outside in the garden sketching!

I sent everyone an email saying hats and suncream, we are heading outside!

We found plenty of shady little spots for our artists to settle and make little pen sketches of flowers, plants, trees and even the house!

It was an incredibly chilled day, although Claire was kept busy having a larger area to get round and see everyone.

Once the sketches had been done, some watercolour washes were applied over the top.

Great practice for summer holiday sketchbooks!

Well done everyone and thank you sunshine!
