Takeaway Aga with Sarah Whitaker

Sarah was back at Treetops last week for

Take-Away Aga

She showed everyone some fantastic ideas and dishes for creating delicious quick and easy meals.

Dishes included meals such as;

Hot and Sour Noodle Soup
Sticky Chinese Chicken
Chicken Tikka Masala
Pork and Ginger Stir Fry (photo above)

and a very popular Toffee and Date tart.

The kitchen smelt amazing with herbs and spices galore.

Whilst cooking all of the above (and more!) Sarah was also showing us how to use our Aga, whether it be frying, roasting, grilling, baking, simmering etc

We were shown the best ways to keep it clean and the most economical way to use it.

After the demonstration, we enjoyed a delicious tasting lunch of all the food cooked.

Sarah will be back later in the year.

Making the Most of Your Aga Class

We recently held a very popular Aga class with Sarah Whitaker:

Making the Most of Your Aga

A great refresher class or introduction to your Aga.

As Sarah demonstrates how to use the various ovens and plates she is also grilling, roasting, baking, frying and simmering, and endless food just keeps appearing!

Today's delicious recipes included this Leek and Blue Cheese Risotto

A Hot Prawn and Mango stir fry

A Spinach and Tomato tart on a wholemeal pastry base

And this yummy Chocolate Fudge Cake, a very useful recipe for baking in the Aga half-roaster tin, or two round cake tins or 12 muffin cases.

Aga Christmas Parties Class

Sarah Whitaker returned to Treetops for a new Christmas Class

Christmas Parties

Lots of great ideas for canapes, suppers and preparing ahead.

As Sarah cooked a delicious assortment of food, she was also talking us through how the Aga worked, how to use it efficiently and amazed us with how much she can actually stack inside the ovens!

After the demonstration, there was plenty of time to ask questions, do some shopping and then enjoy a tasting lunch of all the food cooked.

Sarah returns on Friday 6 February 2015 for a class
