Water Lily Pond Oils Class

Our Oils class was bright and beautiful, we painted Water Lilies amongst a vibrant green and blue pond, the end results were brilliant.

We all had such a lovely day, the majority of our artists had not painted with Oils before and they really enjoyed themselves.

Claire starts the class with a full demonstration of the painting for everyone to watch, before they start to put paint on the canvas.

As you can see they are all so different, I love this shade of pink with the green and blue.

Below is our family trio out to spend a lovely day together, we also had another mother and daughter come together too.

Lunch was Scandi Salmon, which was delicious followed by a pear and chocolate crumble.

We will definitely be holding another Oils Class next year, so look out for the date.

Inspired by Turner - Oils Class - Places Available

Following our recent successful Monet Oils Class, we are holding another one, this time titled Inspired by Turner.

Turner started his career painting in watercolour and then began painting landscapes in oils.

He started to spend less time on detail, and it became more about light and atmosphere.

We will look at the colours and techniques he used and apply them to our own paintings.

The class will be held on

Wednesday 27 September
9:30am - approx 3pm

£80
(This includes all of your materials and a 2 course lunch with a glass of wine).

Please email me to book a place.

Monet's Garden in Oils

Today we had an Oils class, these classes have become increasingly popular.

Our theme was Monet's Garden, full of beautiful colours and reflections.

After coffee, Claire spoke about painting in Oils and then demonstrated some techniques to help with the days painting.

Below are some of our students hard at work

They used brushes and palette knives to apply the paint to the canvas.

For some this was their first time ever painting in oils.

Below is a display of the finished paintings:

Lunch today was Chicken Caprese, full of flavour with pesto, mozzarella, basil and tomato.  Served with fresh bread and a spinach and rocket salad.

Below was our vegetarian option, a spinach and tortellini cheese bake.

And pudding was a creamy (soaked overnight) Tiramisu!

And they all managed to return to the painting table after that and carry on!

A really successful day.
