After the storm ......

I'm pleased to say that after last night's storm, the garden at Treetops is pretty much intact.

Our large beautiful tree lost a few branches several years ago in heavy winds, but this morning it stood very tall and strong!

The only large branch down landed on the shed, I heard a large crack in the night, so knew something had come down.

I had a walk around the woods, which looked very autumnal with all the various shades of colour, it was a carpet of bracken.

The skies are now blue and all is still ......

(We were rather worried about the trees on the right, as they are HUGE and they do like to sway rather worryingly in high winds)!

Wednesday 4 December  (1 PLACE REMAINING)

Susanna demonstrates a variety of ideas and arrangements with flowers and foliage for you to decorate your home this Christmas which show you lovely ways to add scent, colour and pattern.

After morning coffee, there is then time for you to make your Festive Wreath, either for your front door or hall table.

At this point, the kitchen is full of Christmas scents including eucalyptus, pine (and mulled wine!)

After a light lunch, Sarah demonstrates a final idea before you head home with your stunning creation.

Autumn Harvest Watercolour Class

Today was a lovely calm painting day.

With a lovely calm group.  (That always helps)!

We had a photograph of a beautifully harvested field, which we used as our base painting.

Claire then showed us how we could create our own painting by adding additional things such as a tractor, a church, farm buildings etc

This led to us talking about scale and perspective.

The day was helped by having the technical farming knowledge from one of our artists!

We had a relaxing lunch before spending a quiet afternoon getting into the rhythm of shading and shaping the bales.

Below are the finished paintings:
