Tuesday's Winter Scene Watercolour

Again, a Winter Scene day, with some artists going off-piste and painting their own masterpieces.

Several of our artists are having their paintings made into Christmas Cards, they will look great.

This was our last Watercolour Class for the year.

Bookings are being taken for our Spring Classes.

Dates are HERE

We've got a great selection of subjects, and are also having an Introduction to Pastels on 14 February.

Monday's Winter Scene Watercolour

It's that time of year again for our popular Winter Scene Watercolour Class.

We've painted some very pretty snowy scenes over the years.

This week was a little welsh picture.

It was really enjoyable to paint, once we'd mastered vanishing points, perspective and the use of masking fluid.

Again, Claire manages to cover a variety of skills whilst teaching in a step by step style which makes it really enjoyable and (mostly!) stress free!

This is such a popular painting, the colours are gorgeous.

The painting enables Claire to cover a variety of skills during the day.

Well done everyone, I hope they are hanging on your wall soon!

Putting Life into Still Life Watercolour Class

Today we had a Watercolour Class with Claire, titled Putting Life into Still Life.

There was a wide variety of things to choose from.

Claire demonstrated stage by stage some flowers in a jug, but there were lots of items to put together ourselves, and the plan was to paint "Loose and Free", therefore quickening the process and enabling everyone to paint a couple of pictures during the day.

Here is the Gallery of our paintings:

Here is a selection of the paintings displayed at the end of the day, if you click on the photographs it should enlarge.

Christmas Aga

Christmas came to Treetops on Friday with Sarah and her Christmas Aga Class.

Sarah made some delicious dishes and helped everyone plan what could be made ahead of time and frozen, how to juggle the ovens on the day, how to retain the heat of the Aga.  It was great, plenty of tips and questions going around the room.

The house smelt very festive thanks to my gorgeous new
mixed with the smells of red cabbage, rich gravy, bacon, stilton, walnut and pear tart, roast turkey, freshly baked bread, the rum (!) the brandy butter with orange zest, and loads more, it was a really wonderful spread!

Sarah returns on Friday 1 February for Winter Warmers.

9.45am - 1.30pm

Her new book has just been published:
