Luxury Christmas Wreath Workshop

We had the lovely Lindsey from The White Horse Flower Company here today to run our Luxury Festive Wreath Workshop

This year was all about the eco friendly moss base and natural accessories.

We call this workshop the 'Luxury' class due to the incredible amount of stunning fresh foliage, ribbons, dried fruits, feathers and berries that Lindsey brings with her.  There is so much choice to create an amazing wreath.

Lindsey demonstrates how to prep and start making the wreath

We had a lovely group in today to work whilst the sun shone through the window

It was lovely to see so many variations of wreaths made from the same ingredients!

Just one section of foliage!

There were plenty of refreshments, cake and mulled wine served throughout the morning.

Below are the beautiful wreaths ready to adorn doors in Berkshire, North Hampshire, East Sussex, Gloucestershire, Surrey!

Below is Lindsey's finished Wreath that she started demonstrating this morning.

For all her floral love and inspiration you can follow Lindsey on instagram: @thewhitehorseflower

Fingers crossed Lindsey will be back to join us for another workshop around Easter time.

Festive Flowers Class 2014

Our term finished on a Christmas high, with a lovely day of Festive Flowers.

Susanna had lots of ideas to help with decorating and theming the home this Christmas.

There were some great ideas involving gold leaf, jam jars, glitters and glue.

Using some lovely red flowers, berries and foliage, Susanna showed everyone how to make a simple hand tied bouquet, which would make a lovely gift at Christmas.

Susanna then demonstrated in great Blue Peter style how to put together a stunning Christmas Wreath.  We were shown how to wire fruits, walnuts and cinnamon.

After coffee and time spent looking at Susanna's selection of books, magazines and cuttings for more inspiration, everyone had time to make their own Christmas Wreath.

I love how they are all so different.  Yet they are all full of gorgeous colour and festive bits!

After lunch, Susanna taught everyone how to make small corsages from left over bits of foliage, berries and flowers, with floristry wire and tape (and festive ribbon!)

This kept everyone quiet for a while!

Susanna will be back in the Spring for more Flower Classes.

Summer Flowers with Susanna

The kitchen at Treetops was full of beautiful flowers today because Susanna from Tiger Rose Floral Design was here for our Summer Flowers class.

To start with Susanna showed everyone how to make a hand-tied posy using some lovely pastel flowers, mixed with foliage and rosemary.

Following a variety of ideas, Susanna then showed everyone how to create their arrangement.

Then it was time to choose the flowers .....

Using a bulb bowl filled with oasis, which everyone covered with either ribbon, ivy or foliage, the filling of flowers started .....

Here is Susanna's example, she used rosemary around the edge of her bowl and filled it with shades of lilac, cream and purple.

Pretty jam jars full of pretty flowers.

Some stunning peachy carnations, peach is a very fashionable colour this season.

After lunch, Susanna put together a beautiful boxed arrangement with roses and the carnations.

My favourite Peonies, I love them!

Susanna made a tall striking arrangement, with the flowers held in by blossom and foliage stems.

Ivy and clematis montana was wound around the stem of the vase and tucked into a fantastic wreath of yet more peonies.

A real showstopper!

Here are the finished arrangements

Susanna will be back for Christmas Flowers in December.
