Claire demonstrated some ideas and techniques at her easel, there were many in our group today who hadn't tried Oils before

Oils are messy!

Here are the beautiful works of art created by our students today ....

Pen and Wash Class

A collection of last week's beautiful pen and wash pictures.

The colours are gorgeous.

Claire and the artists started playing with the pens, making marks on paper, using watersoluble and permanent black pens.

They then started on their main picture, and had a quiet and relaxing morning sketching and drawing.

A first wash of watercolour was applied to the paper

which is great (British!) paper that holds the water really well when we are applying lots of watery washes.

We stopped for lunch, a warming chicken traybake and this really delicious winter coleslaw salad

We had some super speedy artists today, so here is a selection of some of their smaller artworks that they experimented with in the afternoon.

See you all again soon
