Constable Country Watercolour Class

Today we were in Constable Country, Suffolk, and were painting Herringfleet Windmill near Lowestoft.

There was quite a bit of drawing to start with, making sure we had the windmill and it's reflection just right.

We created a lovely first wash, filling the sky with colour and the water with reflections.

There was plenty of hairdryer time today, drying our work before adding another layer of colour, as we started to darken our riverbanks, whilst all the time working hard not to lose the lovely light and misty areas created by our first wash.

There are a pair of places available next week for our Autumn Scene, beautiful rich warm colours.

Tuesday 1 October
9.30am - 3pm
£70
All materials, lunch and a glass of wine included.

Vibrant Flowers Watercolour Class

It's been a busy art week at Treetops!

Yesterday Claire ran a Vibrant Flowers class.

Everyone had the opportunity to use lots of colours and created a lovely wash as the background.

After lunch, the paintings were finished and put in a mount for display.

Then everyone had about 45 minutes to create a small floral painting using the skills that they learnt during the morning.

There are some spaces available next week on our Landscape Class - Constable Country:

Thursday 26 September

and on Autumn Harvest

Rock Choir Returns .........

First day of term, and we were delighted to welcome back our Rock Choir gang from Wokingham!

They were slightly apprehensive with nerves as to what they would be painting.

Claire had chosen a lovely gentle scene from the Lake District, this involved learning about washes and reflections.

The paintings were all beautiful.

And look, smiley faces after a hard day's work at Treetops!

Lovely to see you all.

Keep singing, and for anyone interested in Rock Choir, you can find your local choir here:
