Winter Scenes II - Watercolour

We had a calm and quiet class today (absolutely nothing to do with the fact I had lost my voice, and spent the day painting in silence apart from the occassional stage whisper of "lunch is ready" and "would you like some wine")!

This was our second Winter Scene painting day this term, we had a different painting (no sheep!) and it was actually of Treetops, a photo taken in the snow of the woods with the walkway leading you through.

We mixed up some lovely cool colours and then spent ages trying to get our posts and walkway correct, sometimes it looks just right, but you step away and your pathway appears to be leading you up to the heavens.

It was amazing at the end of the day to see them all lined up, they were all so different but yet were taken from the same image. There were some fantastic trees, shadows and dusky lights.

Lunch was taken from Sarah Whitaker's new book (Treetops Aga lady) a delicious salmon recipe, there is a link from the website on the "News" page, I can definitely recommend the book. www.treetops-newbury.co.uk.
