Christmas Canapes Class

Well this class was so brilliant and busy, I didn't get any time to take photos!

But I can say we had a fantastic group in to watch the demonstration of over 10 different canapes for this upcoming festive season, both savoury and sweet.

Learning what could be prepared ahead of time, with plenty of top tips, and sharing of products. In true Blue Peter style I had made extra of many of them, so there wasn't one canape that couldn't be tasted.

Everyone enjoyed a glass of fizz on arrival and enjoyed the canapes being passed around.

Thanks everyone for coming, it felt and smelt so festive!

Water Lily Pond Oils Class

Our Oils class was bright and beautiful, we painted Water Lilies amongst a vibrant green and blue pond, the end results were brilliant.

We all had such a lovely day, the majority of our artists had not painted with Oils before and they really enjoyed themselves.

Claire starts the class with a full demonstration of the painting for everyone to watch, before they start to put paint on the canvas.

As you can see they are all so different, I love this shade of pink with the green and blue.

Below is our family trio out to spend a lovely day together, we also had another mother and daughter come together too.

Lunch was Scandi Salmon, which was delicious followed by a pear and chocolate crumble.

We will definitely be holding another Oils Class next year, so look out for the date.

Cornish Harbour Watercolour Class

It's been a busy month at Treetops so far, so I am catching up on my blog posts.

These photos are from our Cornish Harbour Watercolour Class with Claire on 1 November.  We also used a fine black marker towards the end to highlight certain areas of the painting.

We started with a gentle pencil sketch of the Harbour

Followed by a gentle first wash of paint.

Some of you may recognise the harbour as St Ives

We had some colourful boats and some beautiful water painted.

Lunch today was a delicious lamb and apricot tagine served with flatbreads.

Thank you everyone for coming it was a lovely day.

Christmas Canape Class

We will be holding a Christmas Canape Class at Treetops on Thursday 10 November
from 7pm - 9pm.

The class will be demonstration style, you will be greeted with a glass of fizz on arrival.

You will be shown how to make fun and delicious treats for friends and family, watch how to create impressive mini mouthfuls and see how you can get maximum taste into a bite size serving.

Learn what can be prepared ahead of time (which is always useful at this time of year), and if you are need to create for any specific dietary requirements, we can help you with this.

Iridescent Watercolours

We were painting with Iridescent Watercolours this week, adding shimmer, sparkle and shine to birds, animals and fish, it was a great class, it's always good to try something new.

Hummingbirds, peacocks, kingfishers and cockerels were our popular birds.

The day felt very autumnal, it was lovely to be inside painting.

These fish are wonderful!

We had a delicious Lamb Hot Pot with vegetables for lunch followed by an Apple, Elderberry Syrup and Blackberry Crumble, all found from the local hedgerows and trees, so good!

Come and join us later in the month for an Acrylics class, we have had alot of requests for more Acrylics.

Our Autumn has started

We've been working hard behind the scenes to create some great classes for you this term, we've been enjoying some lovely Aroma Yoga classes with Rachel and have welcomed lots of new faces who are enjoying getting away from it all, relaxing, moving with some gentle yoga and then snuggling under a duvet and eye mask for some savasana.  Which is then followed with delicious nibbles and warming drinks.

The classes book really quickly but we have a waiting list system, upcoming classes in November and December will be on the booking system soon.

In other news we are launching a Treetops Wellbeing range, which has started with a gorgeous candle, made from locally sourced beeswax from a local maker.

I wanted to evoke the scent of Treetops, with flowers, the woodland and being relaxed.  And after researching a variety of scents we came up with this one which is Geranium and Warm Woods, with lighter notes of lavender, patchouli and vanilla.

We've had a great response, they make a great gift or addition to your candle collection!  These are available on the website.  Please note that all our goods in our Online Shop are posted free of charge.

We are busy working on creating a Wellbeing Gift Box ready for Christmas, it will include the candle, these beautiful bath salts below, an essential oil rollerball made by Rachel, a small lavender bag and an optional yoga eye pillow.  Look out for the announcement for these, or join our mailing list to hear from us first, as we will only have limited stock of these.

We have collaborated with a great new local magazine called Made in the Shires that supports local small businesses, the latest magazine has just been printed and will hopefully be found out and about in West Berkshire, they also have a website for you to look at.  Please support local this Christmas, there are some wonderful companies local to Newbury who are all working extremely hard at the moment.
